Fall Hiking Week is an annual event sponsored by the Connecticut Chapter of the Appalachian Mountain Club. FHW is generally held for one week in September, from Friday to Friday. Participants may attend for all or part of the week.
Each year, FHW is based in one of the hotels in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. The room rates include breakfast and dinner and the makings for trail lunches. Each day, qualified AMC trip leaders lead a number of hikes, covering a range of difficulties. Hikers carpool from the hotel to the trailhead. There is a social hour in the late afternoon and a program of interest to outdoors people in the evening.
With a tradition stretching back more than 140 years, Fall Hiking Week is a great way to enjoy hiking and camaraderie in the White Mountains.
